GUEST POST: Hey, there! My name is Chamaya and I’m a firm believer in the idea that wellness should be accessible. In fact, that is a large part of why I became a wellness blogger in the first place.
To me, wellness means taking care of yourself, inside and out, as well as nurturing your community. So, in that vein, I’m here to share my favorite black-owned wellness brands with you. Here have been some of my favorites recently:

6 Best Black Owned Wellness Brands
Sage Plug–
This company was actually started by a friend of mine! She/they started it during the 2020 quarantine. Now, it’s booming and blooming! These wellness kits are complete with herbs, crystals, and other forms of aromatherapy made to ground you. Natalie, the owner, is well-versed in the healing aspects of herbs and essential oils. She provides decadent, calming scents such as lavender and sage. I, personally, have always believed in the power of sensory input. It helps ground you and take you to a place where you’re not focussing on your thoughts. It allows you to exist in space, which a lot of us, I’m sure, could benefit from.
My favorite of these ethically-sourced, chakra-balancing goodies is the floral bath tea. This batch is complete with epsom salt and essential oils. Epsom salt is recognized and coveted for ridding the body of toxins. It also soothes sore muscles with its essential oil base. Rose, lavender, and jasmine petals help create the atmosphere and add a dreamy touch to one’s self care routine. Personally, I find the pungent lavender scent combined with the subtle sweetness of the fresh rose to be so luxurious!
Ivy’s Tea Co. –
Founded by a Jamaican-American woman, this company truly taps into every tea-lover’s needs with its own unique twist. I’ve always loved the fact that each of their products has such a funky, creative name. The Sister Sister tea blend happens to be a crowd favorite. It contains relaxing mints, rose petals, and cinnamon. If you’re looking for herbal remedies for your daily stress, look no further! These blends will definitely put you into a calm state.
Cree8 In Me –
Social wellness is something we often forget to practice. Cree8 In Me makes it easier to manage. If you need a way to stay connected with loved ones from afar, this creative event-planning and gift-giving company can help bridge that gap.
Cree8 in me is a Christian-based company started by a single black mother. She uses her artistic eye to curate and decorate gift baskets, sweet treats, event decor, and more. If you have a quarantine birthday to celebrate, put her on your list. If you want to surprise your significant other, her chocolate-covered strawberry set will definitely make an impression. Everything that she creates is full of immaculate detail and finished with a thoughtful touch.
I ended up purchasing one of the birthday packages for my dad this past June. We threw a drive-by birthday bash (because, you know, COVID), and had friends and family drop off gifts and other goodies to help celebrate. This company provided a gorgeous glass card case as well as a gift basket for my dad that was dressed in vibrant colors. Included in the gift basket was his favorite candy, new cologne, and a mug. The exciting thing about Cree8 In Me is that you can customize your gifts.
Golde –
This company, created by a black woman, is great for natural wellness products. From hair cream to smoothie blends, they’ve got it all. What I love about this brand is that they are dedicated to clean, natural ingredients with every product. I also love how bright their packaging is. They seem to really have a handle on what people want to experience in terms of self care and overall wellness. They offer blends such as a Matcha Turmeric Latte and a Clean Greens Face Mask. All of their products seem good enough to eat!
Trinity Mouzon Wofford, the co-founder and CEO of Golde, is an NYU graduate with a mind for innovation. I admire this brand’s dedication to making healthy options more accessible to disadvantaged communities.
Dr. Miracle –
Growing up as a curly-haired girl, it wasn’t easy to find products that would protect my hair follicles, moisturize my curls from root to tip, and also allow my curls to roam freely in all their glory. That’s why I’m so glad that I had Dr. Miracle hair care products by my side for all those years. I still sing this brand’s praises. By using natural ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil, the products coat coarse hair like mine and douse the strands in moisture. My personal favorite is the leave-in conditioner with coconut oil, jojoba oil, and honey. After I use it, my curls are left with a healthy glow and a fresh aroma as well!

I hope you have found this list of black owned wellness brands useful, and I hope you’re finding ways in these times to stay grounded.
Be well,
Chamaya
Summer’s Black Owned Wellness Brand Top Pick:
Thank you, Chamaya for these amazing recommendations. During my own wellness journey I’ve come in contact with some awesome companies. I wanted to add one of my personal favorite Black Owned Wellness brands that I incorporate into my self care routine!
The Honey Pot Co.–
This company puts women’s health at its forefront. Keep your “honey pot” clean and healthy with their clean plant based washes, wipes, and cleansers. They also carry a line of amazing menstrual products using organic materials.
I personally own their menstrual cup and use it with their “Normal Wash” to keep things clean and fresh. I’ve been using menstrual cups for over 8 years now and this is one of the best ones I’ve tried! Plus the cute hot pink color is just too damn fun!
